Calling all Old Skool R&B and Hip-Hop fans! MetroFest is set to make its debut this weekend and it’s lined up to be one of the most exciting new festivals to come out of the UK this year. Taking place across nine stages in the beautiful location of Trent Country Park in North London, there is a wide range of talented artists, comedians and DJs, ensuring entertainment for everyone throughout the 10 hour event.
The main stage sees a star-studded lineup with some true Hip-Hop and R&B legends including Blackstreet, Horace Brown, Mya, Bobby V, Marshayne and many more world-renowned acts. But taking center stage and headlining the day for his first ever UK performance will be the iconic Fat Joe. He brings with him an impressive catalogue of music to choose from, with 10 solo albums under his belt and a number of crossover hits, including ‘Lean Back’, ‘Attention’, ‘What’s Love’ and recent 2021 hit ‘Sunshine’.

Unfortunately the rap sensation Eve, who was set to play the main stage, has had to withdraw due to unforeseen circumstances. Please see the official statement below –
Due to unforeseen circumstances I’m so sorry to say I won’t be able to play Metro Fest this year. I’m absolutely gutted I won’t get to play at such a great festival but I hope I can come back and play for you all in 2022.
Love Eve x
Nonetheless, the show goes on with the Grammy award-winning RnB group Blackstreet who will be performing an exclusive set, including the massive song ‘No Diggity’, which reached number one on The Billboard Hot 100. But they aren’t just a one-hit wonder, with recognisable classics like ‘Don’t leave Me’, ‘Take Me There’ and ‘Fix’, all of which reached the top 10 in the UK charts and are sure to be crowd favourites.
The range of talent across the other stages is equally impressive. Skinny Man brings a refreshing style of high-energy rap, international multi-genre DJ O’Niel Mcdowall will deliver his usual lively set and there’s even some Hip Hop Karaoke for those looking to have some fun and sing along to the biggest Hip Hop and R&B classics.

There’s something for everyone from the incredible lineup of Hip Hop, Jungle and RnB DJs taking to the decks at MetroFest. Bringing the fun vibes will be Radio 1 Xtra’s Ace, Capital Xtra’s Mike Panteli, DJ Bizness, South London’s finest DJ Jukess and Drum n Bass godfather, Grooverider, performing with Skibadee. A particular highlight will be US mixtape legend Tony Touch, who will be sure to play some classics from his ‘50 MC’s’ mixtapes that have featured guest appearances from the likes of Eminem, Boot Camp Clik, Kool G Rap and Mos Def.

It’s not just musical talent to be enjoyed at this festival, there is a Comedy Shack stage which will boast an exciting lineup of both young talent and stand-up veterans alike. Comedians to watch out for include Nabil Abulrashid, the youngest black comedian to perform stand-up at the Hammersmith Apollo, critically acclaimed writer and comedian Jeff Innocent and the likes of Thanyia Moore, Aurie Styler and Kevin J.
So with a sensational mix of 90s R&B, Old Skool Jungle, underground Hip Hop, London’s freshest Street Sounds, some of the world’s biggest club DJs and the best comedic talent to come out of the UK, MetroFest will bring an unmissable party atmosphere to North London. Our team at NetworthPick will be attending the event to bring live interviews with the artists on the day, so keep an eye out for more MetroFest content coming your way!
