Peace means something different to each of us, many want, have or need peace. We all ask the same questions; how do I find peace? Where do I find peace? When will I find peace? And what is peace?
But do you ever just celebrate peace? Ever heard of the international day of peace? No?
Well, “The International day of Peace” is a day created by the United Nations so that people can reflect, educate and make commitments and goals to creating a more peaceful society. Sounds nice if you ask me. A day to really try and make the world a better place to give yourself, loved ones or even strangers a chance at a more harmonious life.

What do you do on peace day? Many activities are taken place on this day such as peace education events, workshops on the peace day theme, community gatherings, concerts and festivals and even sports matches in spirt of peace. They also have more traditional activities such as flag ceremonies and a minute of silence at 12.
Did you know this international day started on 21st September 1981 and was first celebrated in New York.
Is this a religious celebration? No, it’s not it’s a day where everyone in the world can come together as one and be a reminder of how great things can be with the absence of war and violence, the world we all hope will be a reality one day.
Maybe you should try celebrating peace day? You never know what could happen? Be open to the possibility or unlocking something inside of you that you never knew you had.
Start the day right, start the day with peace.
“The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the day will know peace.”
