YouTube is a platform where anyone can post videos. It was originally created in 2005 and it has grown massively to become one of the biggest platforms in the world. When you watch content creators go from zero subscribers to millions of subscribers, it is very possible to build a platform for yourself as it has been done before. Influencers like DDG & Jake Paul have gone from becoming nothing to something just by producing content on YouTube & and other social media platforms. Not only do they become well-known YouTubers across the world, but they also have opened new doors for themselves like making music, having their own series, and taking tours around the world for their supporters: simply living their dream life by producing content.

So how do I grow a platform on YouTube?
- Posting regularly
The main key to building a name on YouTube is to produce as much content as possible, as the more content you produce the more recognition you can get. Posting regularly will help you gain new viewers, so have a set time and day where you have your post your weekly videos. Posting during the week between 2pm & 4pm is a decent starting point for most YouTubers. - Producing specific content on your channel
Finding what the viewers like to watch on your channel, is the content you should be putting out there the most, as having returning subscribers will be the main reason your channel is going to grow. For example, ask yourself how you’d like your channel to be? It could be mainly a vlog channel, reviews, reactions videos, pranks, etc. Have a go at every idea you have in mind and see which one becomes successful.
- Title & description
The Title/Description of the video is also important. Using keywords in the description and using catchy titles to attract viewers could potentially be the reason for gaining new subs. A good catchy title should be short, simple, and to the point, and you could even use questions in the headline to get people curious. Click here to know more. - Thumbnails
Thumbnails play an important part as they will attract viewers to click on the video just by seeing an interesting thumbnail. Using high-resolution quality and including text or edits will make the video seem more professional and worth watching. - Sharing your videos
Sharing your videos on your social media is a free advertisement place for you to get some recognition, gain new viewers, and even get your name out there. Other social media places you should use are Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat & Twitter as they are great to build a platform. For every new post, ask your friends and family to share it around with the link connected to your channel so others can see it. - Collaboration
Collaboration is a great way to connect with other influencers and to grow. Don’t be shy to contact bigger or smaller influencers to see if they are down to work with you and get a feature on their channel and vice versa. See what you both could bring to the table and grow together.
