It’s officially cuffing season. As the winter ahead looks more exciting than last year’s (fingers crossed!), here are Networthpick’s suggestions for mate’s dates or cosy evenings with a significant other.
Take a Cookery Class
Restaurants and cookery schools offer one-off workshops where you can learn something new and take your creations home. They are usually a fun way to bond with your partner and cover a range of cuisines and skillsets. I would, however, advise a read of the reviews after an experience with a disciplinarian pastry chef made the class feel more like a military drill than a light-hearted baking activity.
Go Ice Skating
A pretty obvious one! Make the most of this seasonal activity by donning your skates and warming up with a mulled wine or hot chocolate after.

Pottery Painting
Many towns have a pottery-painting workshop where you can design each other a one-of-a-kind mug, bowl, or a romantic egg cup. Even if you have not got a creative bone in your body, the result can be fairly amusing, and you take home a personal souvenir from that day.
A Murder Mystery Evening
If you or your loved one loves thriller novels or detective shows, this immersive experience will be right up your street. Engage in a whodunit-style affair, as actors play the various suspects, and it is up to you and your team to use the clues to solve the mystery by the end of the night. Attend a murder mystery dinner in a hotel, on a steam train, or host your own party.

Cocktail Making
If you can’t find any classes near you, host your own cocktail-making evening! If you have a coffee machine, espresso martinis are easy to make. If not, some of these 100 cocktail recipes are sure to tickle your fancy.
Go to a Show
Inject some culture into your evening by going to a show together. Gigs, plays, pantos, circus acts or comedy shows are always on offer this time of year. Just don’t sit in the front row of a comedy gig unless you are prepared to take some ridicule from the acts!

Visit a Farm
Something for the animal lovers. There is even a sizable farm in the heart of East London, so there is no excuse wherever you are based! If you would rather be out of the cold, aquariums are a fun alternative.
A night in with good food, drinks and games is always welcome. Following last year’s winter, however, I think it’s time to appreciate all the things we can do without restrictions!
