As cold weather turns warm, it’s time to put some spring in your step and get yourself back out there. Put the winter blues behind you and get ready to enjoy the warm weather the right way!
Your health and fitness are important and it’s easy to overlook exercise and self-care when you’re huddled up at home for warmth in winter. But now that the sun is back and the grey days of post-Christmas winter are behind us, it’s important to put outside exercise back into your daily routine!
Get moving more, whether it’s a daily run, a gym membership, taking part in sports at a leisure centre near you, or just playing in a field with a ball and a few good friends! Getting out in the open and exercising or even just going for a walk does wonders for both your physical and mental health. It’s not healthy to stay inside all the time and the spring and summer seasons are the best times to get out there. I personally couldn’t wait for winter to be over, and I vowed to myself that with warm weather will come a more active me!
You could also take this opportunity to improve your body confidence! Lose any winter weight you put on and put away the layers of jumpers and jackets. Break out the clothing that makes you feel most comfortable. And remember to stay sun safe on the brightest days!
Spring food and diet
Spring is named for sudden burst of life the warmer weather brings. As such free-range farms flourish, and fresher fruits and vegetables are plentiful as harvest season comes! Spring is the perfect time to get into healthy eating habits. Go all natural with a healthy balanced diet, cooking fresh preservative-free food and taking advantage of fresh fruit for healthy snacking.
From strawberries to cabbages and even eggs, spring is the natural time for these to be at their most bountiful. Life flourishes in the springtime and so should we, whatever your diet; whether you’re vegan, vegetarian or subside entirely off of steak.
Finally, this spring as the world tentatively continues to return to normal, our message to you is this: make the most of the warming weather and make up for the time we lost to the pandemic! Get yourself back out there! With the lifting of lockdown restrictions, get back in touch with the people you haven’t had a chance to see and take this spring as a much-needed renewal for all the friendships and connections the pandemic had taken from us! Just remember to be careful and considerate to the needs and well-being of others when you do so.
